Who we are and what we do

We are NAU's student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery.

We are a passionate group that enjoys all things computer science.

NAU ACM is chartered under the national organization and the College of Engineering, Forestry, and Natural Sciences to:
"Increase the knowledge of and greater interest in the science, design, development, construction, languages, management, and applications of modern computing."

To meet this mission, we strive to:

  • Bring together students with a passion for computing, regardless of major or study
  • Connect students to the professional world
  • Lead students into projects big and small

Our Meetings and the ACM Lounge

Our officer team brings in businesses, organizations, faculty, and students that are energetic about sharing their knowledge and experience about computing to the next generation.

We do our best to provide quality presentations, exercises, and resources for students, where every meeting is worthwhile and has a positive takeaway.

Meeting Times:
We meet in during the school year.

The ACM Lounge

Formally known as the CS Projects Room, Engineering Room 104 is the ACM Lounge. The space is used as a study area, where students can collaborate on projects and homework; get tutoring and help from Teaching Assistants, Graders, and other CS students; and network with each other.

Presently, students have limited access to the room while it is being worked on. More information will be released when the officer team is informed.

Fallen on Hard Times or Want to Help Us Out?

We do our best to help students interested in computing get the information and assistance they want or need.

Overall, NAU ACM works to provide a supportive network to increase the knowledge and interest in computing.

We bring in businesses, organizations, and individuals to educate people on real-world experiences and interesting topics. We want your help to paint the canvas of what is possible in computing fields and give students opportunities to grow their professional portfolios. Without the support of our various communities, from NAU to the national level, our club would be unable to function.

We are always looking for ways to give unique experiences to our members and help those with computing needs.

Whether it is helping a slightly misguided student learning automata theory or a business is looking for help on a project, we are here to assist.
